It does this by offering a range of packages that can be used on their own or combined together to help them achieve faster results.  The main aims of the packages are to help men:

  • Be in better control over lifestyle choices that may affect their health, weight, fitness and body shape.
  • Be in a friendly non-judgmental environment where they can be themselves.
  • Achieve their weight loss and fitness goals while having some fun, banter and camaraderie along the way.

Why a men’s only service?

Simply put, there aren’t enough services in one place aimed specifically for men to help them improve their health, get into shape and lose some weight.

When it comes to their weight, many men often feel lost about where they can go to get some help and support, or are not comfortable going to existing weight loss services and often want to do exercise as part of losing some excess weight. 

In England there are more overweight men than women, but only a small percentage of men attend weight-loss programmes compared to women. 

Exercise should also be a key part of any weight management programme, but unfortunately most weight loss programmes don’t deliver any exercise sessions all.

That’s why we created GutBusters. To be a service that includes exercise and nutritional advice in one place to help you be fitter, shape up and lose some excess weight.

The GutBusters pathway – Dave’s journey (example)

Dave is a 40 year old man who is 1½ stones overweight, feeling unfit and not happy with his physique. 

He decides he wants to make some changes to lose the extra weight he’s put on in the last few years, gain some muscle to improve his body shape, be stronger and feel fitter.

He joins GutBusters to help him achieve his weight loss and fitness goals and opts for the 12 week Gold Weight Loss & Fitness Package

Why is it so hard for men to keep weight off?

While most people can lose weight in the short term, keeping it off is usually much harder and often requires different approaches altogether.

One of the main reasons that people find it hard to keep weight off is because they have to make long term lifestyle changes. The short term changes that most people use to lose weight can’t usually be maintained long term.

Lifestyle changes should be around changing the things in your life that led to you to gain weight and why you’re finding difficult to keep it off. Where possible, this should also looking at things that can affect your weight and mindset such as being tired or stressed.

Some key lifestyle changes can include doing more exercise, eating more healthily, having smaller portions and drinking more water and less alcohol.

Also, many diets do not encourage long term lifestyle changes. To lose weight and keep it off long term requires lifestyle changes around your food choices, eating habits, and physical activity.
