About the GutBusters Team
Who we are, what we do and why we do it.
Whether your goal is to lose weight, get fitter, improve you health, keep weight off or just look and feel better, one thing is for sure – the GutBusters team won’t give up on you.
Who runs GutBusters?
The GutBusters service has been created and developed by two local men, Ian Preston and James Powell. Together, they have over 30 years of work and experience within the NHS and health and fitness sector.
As well as being qualified and experienced fitness instructors, both Ian and James hold the Level 3 qualifications in Exercise Referral, and the exercise specialist Level 4 Obesity and Diabetes Certificate. This allows them to work closely with clinicians and others within the health care sector to deliver exercise programmes for those who are obese or have diabetes.

What we do
We aim to provide a friendly non-judgemental service to support men who want to improve their health, lose weight, get fitter, improve their physique and keep unwanted weight off.
We do this by offering a range of weight management and fitness packages that give men the support, knowledge and skill’s to help them take back more control of their lifestyle choices
All of our packages can be inter-linked to suit a person’s lifestyle, budget and help them achieve their goals even faster.
We also provide long term ongoing support if needed to help individual’s to stay on track.

Why we do it
Simply put, there aren’t any real services in one place aimed specifically for men to help them lose weight, get fitter and maintain a healthy body weight.
Did you know that there are more overweight men than women in England, but most of these don’t go commercial weight loss programmes.
A recent local survey found that most men wouldn’t go to weight loss services like Slimming World and Weight Watchers.
They felt they were aimed more towards women and didn’t include exercise sessions. They also wanted somewhere where they could be themselves and be with other men like them.
Unfortunately, most weight loss programmes don’t deliver any exercise sessions within their programmes. Exercise should be an important part of any weight loss programme and also plays a major role in preventing people regaining weight.
That’s why we created GutBusters!
To provide a friendly one stop health, fitness and weight loss service designed by men for men. Somewhere that gives you the information and support to help you achieve your goals, along with some fun, banter and camaraderie.
